How Wii Boxing Helped My Internet Business
Bit of a crazy post this, but bear with me…
Ok, so how did playing a Wii Boxing Game at the weekend help me with my online business.
Well…
I injured my shoulder, to be all technical, I have a Rotator Cuff Injury and it’s PURE AGONY.
I am clock watching until the time comes for another painkiller and some Ibuprofen, plus I stink of Deep Heat spray too!
Hence, this blog post may be a bit short because it hurts terribly to type and one handed typing is soooooo slow!
The Best Laid Plans…
I am gutted not to be able to do everything I had planned to do online this week.
- The second phase of the 100 comments challenge is now in place, and I need to visit the blogs of the 100 contributors, plus social bookmark their posts.
- I had planned to finish my wordpress plugins ebook and videos this week too.
- I have three products to review and write testimonials for.
- I have not been active on any of the forums I like to frequent.
- Also most of the new comments on my blog have not received a personal reply from me, which I always like to do.
- My @SallyNeill twitter mentions have had no personal replies
- Plus I was in the middle of doing another Sally’s Secret Sauce Traffic Blogs video – Part 2.
The blogs sending me the most traffic have changed significantly, and I will now be doing a regular update of blogs sending me traffic.
The previous post Sally’s Secret Sauce Traffic Blogs was kinda popular, so I want to make it a regular feature on my blog, so that you can hop over to those blogs and grab some nice juicy traffic for yourself too.
Not sure my daughter Jade want’s to help me out with the videos this time, the notion has worn off already ha ha.
I have also noticed a lot of people are writing about my blog posts on their blog, so I want to try and add a little shout out to my favourite posts mentioning my blog too, share the love so to speak!
So you can see THIS WAS SOOOOOO NOT THE TIME TO GET INJURED playing silly games on the Wii.

However, I am the Mario Kart Champion so it’s not all bad ha ha.
So basically I was feeling kind of down at the beginning of this week because I cannot complete any of the above tasks.
Every Cloud has a silver lining.
However, as I am unable to do any REAL(?) work online this week, I decided to return to my Alex Jeffreys Coaching calls, and re-listen to them all over again.
And boy am I glad I did.
I now have my next 5 products all mapped out AND they all tie into each other very nicely.
So I am really pleased.
Turning Excuses Into Results…
So whilst my week had initially looked like a wasted one, it actually turned out to be extremely productive for me.
This week I could have used the excuse of my shoulder injury to do nothing online.
But I didn’t, I don’t want to be just another wannabee Internet Marketer full of excuses and never getting anything finished.
I want results from my online efforts.
You should too, make sure you take MASSIVE action everyday to drive towards your online goals.
Try not to let anything life throws at you get you down.
Overcome these obstacles and hurdles, you will come out stronger in the end.
Well that’s all for now, I hope you are well and healthy, unlike me!
Speak soon, Sally
ps. My next blog post will be the 2nd Part to Sally’s Secret Sauce Traffic Blogs, and there is a newcomer in town sending my blog a TON OF TRAFFIC, keep your eyes peeled, might just be your blog I mention!

Hi Sally,
Hey this is really unfortunate, but the big question is did you win the boxing?
As for the time spent not moping around feeling sorry for yourself, well done it’s times like these when we need to stand up and just crack on…
It’s times like these when doing something you don’t usually do sparks something in your head and ideas start flowing. I hope you wrote them down! I hate it when I get a bunch of ideas and forget about them. My iPhone is my notepad and is full of spur of the moment ideas.
I reckon I would kick your ass on Mario Kart BTW

Ha ha, you think you can beat me at Mario Kart do ya?
Well right now you could, but you better hope we never meet at a Seminar and there is a Wii about, cos I will put you to the test
Yep, you’re very right, just crack on, and get the sleeves rolled up, no rest for the wicked they do say.
I don’t have an iphone yet, they are very expensive, will need to save up and get one as so many people rave about them.

Forget about meeting at a seminar for a moment. I say we attach our Wii Consoles to the Internet and have an International MarioKart Smackdown!

Seriously, would you be interested? It’s another way for us to connect as marketers. Although I don’t think we can advertise on Wii just yet.

Hi Sally
I started the 100 challenge because of reading your blog about it. It is a great idea but certainly time consuming.
Thank you for the upbeat encouragement. I understand how it is hard to find enought time in the day.
I have a property investment business offline and many of the things involved in that have close links with IM. Lead generation etc.And also very time consuming, it is easy to get distracted into doing to many things at once.
Sorry to read about your shoulder, its great that you are so positive.
I really beleive that a positive attitude brings positive results
All the best
Vince

Hiya Vince,
I am glad you joined the challenge and I am glad you are having fun with it, the time you spend doing it will be well worth it I promise.
You have to try and stay positive when working online, some days you will feel like giving up, but you could be so close to the success you desire!
Keep plugging away, testing, improving and it will all come good one day.
Property Investment, wow sounds like a lot of work, but it’s great if it ties in with IM too.
My shoulder should be better soon hopefully, thanks for your kind comments.
Take care, Sally
I am so sorry about your shoulder. Pain – Whew and I hate to tell you but my shoulder hurt/ached for a year especially at night. So Good Luck and don’t overuse it at first, that is what I did I didn’t rest it enough in the beginning, so don’t make the same mistake. I have a family too and it is too easy to keep going.
Nice listening to you. I enjoy your posts.

BTW You have some really cool techno stuff on your blog here. The pop up ad on the bottom about the free video that is super cool. And the way your software grabs my last comments, I just noticed that little feature. That is super cool too.]
That is my downfall, the techno stuff. I hired and hired again and I am just tired so I am learning myself. But I am still stuck on simple stuff with my blog. I bought dnextra.com in April. I didn’t learn how to get into and update the posts till well I think it was May. and now I have been trying to update my ads. Finally found where to imput the text for the ads, I did not know each theme was different.
I have repasted and rewritten and resaved and reFTP’d and Re wp-admin’ed all over the place but the graphic and ad is not showing….I am going back in to do battle again. It is code. I am copying and pasting from the other ads and eventually through trial and error I will figure it out.
THEN I will begin posting my articles and putting in ads that I want for products I believe and have bought.
So your technical prowess just tickles me. I think if one housewife can do this then so can I.
Thanks again, and if you have a computer college degree don’t tell me just let me wallow in blissful ignorance.

Hello again Michele,

The videos are just on you tube and embedded onto my wordpress page.
And the last comments “grabber” is comluv or comment love plugin, basically pulls in a link to your last blog post.
I am completely hopeless with techie stuff too but I get by, if you need help use the contact button at the top of this blog, and I will try my best to help you out.
Housewife, ha ha, that made me smile, and yes if I can do it, anyone can.
If not, call in the experts at renacoder/vworker, to get the tech stuff done, rather than waste too much time on it.

Thank you for your comment, Sally
Oh BTW again. I notice you have Rick Byrd on your commentator list. He is my hero. If it wasn’t for him I would not be as far along as I am.
I just gave up on the techs two weeks ago and started learning the set up stuff myself, over the last four months I have bought 30 sites and developed other things but I am back to my first purchase to learn how to do this. And I always write to people and joined three membership programs, hiteshs, jimmie browns, and chris farrels, I learned a lot from all but not what I needed.
But Rick Byrd gave me the clues on how to get into my advertising pages – that each theme was different for where the ads where. I assumed it was an FTP thingy not that you had to do both…FTP the copy to images and then work it in the wp-admin area. So it is a multi-step process. Thanks to Rick Byrd I got enough of a head start I am much farther along than I had ever been before.
Thanks again to Rick.

Hi Miss Sally,
I just posted a comment and got sent to an error page???? So here I am starting again!
Girl you always have me in giggles when ever I read your blog posts. You have a way of describing things where I can actually picture you doing everything you say!
I must get myself one of those Wii things, they sound like so much fun! Although not necessarily the doctors visit, however that is something I would do!
I remember one time in my twenties (actually there are lots of times but I will tell you this one) when I thought I was pretty good walking down a catwalk in a fashion parade. Well somehow I missed the end of the catwalk and kept going ending up flat on my face all with a gorgeous evening gown and high heels!
Another time I decided to jump up on a dancing podium with a pole to do a little gig. I thought I was pretty good spinning around so decided to try and do a flip thinking I was very flexible. Well I hit my head on the pole and knocked myself out in the process all in a little sexy dress and high heels!
Not bad for a self proclaimed bimbo!! I haven’t changed nearly 20 years later!
Referring back to the videos and calls would have given you a new level of focus and motivation. I try as often as I can to do similar. Creating a business online is an ongoing daily routine that has to be created. It isn’t something that happens over night as many would think. It takes a lot of focus, discipline and determination all of which you have!!
Let me know about the plugin book when you have finished. I would love to have a read.
Hope the pain killers are doing good things!
See you back here soon!
Cheers

Hi Sally,
Sorry to hear that you’re suffering with an injury. I hopped straight over to this post when I noticed the word boxing in the title – lol! You do have to be careful though – using the wii really is like training – you’re using muscles you haven’t used before
Just looked at your ebook how to create a cover post. I just pulled a flat version together earlier in the week. I’m a bit over-whelmed by the idea of photo shop. I shall have to accept the challenge and at least give it a 30 day trial to see what I’m missing.

Sorry to hear about your shoulder injury you’ll have to stop thinking you are a teenager and act your age.
No doubt your daughter had a good laugh at your misfortune whilst apparently being sympathetic. I trust she is helping around the house and doing a lot of the housework for you.
If you steep yourself, especially your shoulder, in the bath with the water as hot as you can bear it you will find it helps to remove the pain. Start with cooler water and as you get used to it add more and more hot water, keep doing this until you become lobster like.
I have found this to be effective for removing pain in the past and also you come out feeling great.

Hang in there Sally,
Rotator cuff injuries suck big time. If the language was a little too salty, I apologize but it’s the only way I can express my opinion on that particular injury.
There are a few things I use that really help and the ingredients can be found in any grocery store although mineral salts is sometimes a stretch
Anyway, try soaking in a warm tub with 1 cup Epsom Salt and 3/4 c of Mineral Salts to drawn out the lactic acid and help heal the adjacent muscles AND (this helped me alot). Take 2-3 slices of ginger, place in a saucepan of water, simmer – don’t boil. Place the ginger between 2 gauze pads, place on shoulder, use heating pad on low on on top of the ginger and then you chill out for 5-10 minutes. I forget what the ginger does but heating it slightly can bring out its medicinal qualities.
Hope that makes sense and I help it helps you.
Take care!

Well they are 5 kinda smallish products, don’t expect the I.M world to be rocked just yet and you certainly won’t see an onslaught of promo emails thats for sure.
Not quite at that stage just yet but maybe one day.
Loved your out-take video, made me laugh when I was feeling sorry for myself!
Sally
Wow, great post Sally. If there is a trait that all successful people share, it is how the can bounce back from defeats and overcome adversity and you clearly embody that.
Not only did you bounce back and get your products prepared but you also turned your misfortune into a great blog post. Hope you get better soon.

Hi Damien,
Yes well you can’t keep a good woman down, or so they say.
I am just really determined to find success online this time around and nothing is gonna stop me!
Yeah I wasn’t really sure how people would take the post, I thought it was a bit “daft” but hey it’s my blog, so I just write what I want.
Thankfully people seemed to like it, so that’s really cool.
Thanks for your well wishes, speak to you soon,
Sally
Hey Sally,
Unlucky with the shoulder hope you won the fight anyway. Your dead right that you can’t let things stop you on your IM journey. You can always find an excuse not to do the work that you know has to be done.
Hope your feeling better soon

Hey Glyn
Yeah I am a totally muppet, but lesson learned, no more wii boxing for me.
Nope, I was knocked out in under 30 seconds, so I can’t even take a tiny bit of comfort from winning.
I can’t let excuses hold me back this time, nor should anyone else, excuses are easy, we know being a success online won’t always be easy.
We need to push through the pain!!!
Speak to you soon Glyn, Sally

Ouchee wow wow!
Your clear description and my good imagination just injured my Rotator Cuff, too and now I need some of your pain killers!
I shore like the way you turn bad stuff into good.
Keep doing it.
Have a grand day, Sally.

Hi Sally
You are absolutely right about taking action and not sitting on the sidelines.
Part of that taking action though does involve sitting down and planning on a regular basis, perhaps doing your shoulder in to give you that time was a bit extreme though:).
Look forward to seeing the fruits of your pain.
Cheers

Whenever a list of “to do’s” starts getting to long I always remember one saying “You eat the elephant one bite at a time.” Or something like that. Just keeping that in mind has aloowed me to keep moving forward making money online.
Funny how things turn out. Sometimes we need something to happen to make us break out of our daily/weekly habit and get on with other parts of the business. Shame it took an injury rotator cuff to achieve that though. Hope it is fully healed by now.

Be careful with that shoulder! I know so many people who have had to have surgery because they didn’t do as they were told.
This is why I stay away from computer games, there seem to be so many rotator cuff and rsi type repercussions.
Spending so much time on the computer plays havoc with my posture and so I have to have a massage once or twice a week to relieve my own shoulder problems. He always bans me from the keyboard for the rest of the evening and I tut and cuss and get frustrated. But, you’re right, there are always productive things you can do which don’t involve typing or sitting hunched in front of a screen.
Thanks for the pep talk
