Increasing Your Ebay Ebook Sales

Increasing Your Ebay Ebook Sales
Now many of us are reselling ebooks on eBay but so
me of us perhaps a little more successfully than others.
This can be due to several factors, which I would like to discuss.
You may recognise some of the tips I share if you are a current subscriber to my sallys-ebooks newsletter.
Your ebay id, must be related to what you sell.
If you sell diet ebooks, it does not take a genius to work out that diet-ebooks would be a good username, and then to take it one step further you should purchase the domain name www.diet-ebooks.com.
Your ebay id says a lot about you as a seller, so show that you are a professional and an expert in your subject by making yourself look like a “real” business.
Many people are still reluctant to buy ebooks, in fact many eBayers still don’t even know what an ebook is!
That’s why you can see ebooks created over 3 years ago still selling today on eBay, there is always someone looking for the “golden oldies”!
By giving yourself a professional image you are gaining a potential buyers trust that your product is great quality.
Next you need to use a standard ebay auction template, again this is building your business image, a poor listing stinks of a poor product.
By using a standard ebay auction template you can ensure eBayers or potential buyers can see your terms and conditions, quickly contact you with any questions or concerns etc.
I have a very basic template you are welcome to download and use here:
Next you must have an eBay About Me Page, if curiousity killed the cat then you can bet your bottom dollar that when an Ebayer sees a little “about me” icon beside your ebay id name, then they will take a look.
To test this theory you could easy add a free stats counter to your page and see how many views you get!
Here are a few recommend free stat counters:
http://www.freestatscounter.com/
If you would like a free About Me Page template to edit and do with as you please here is a link to one I giveaway:
Don’t worry if you do not have an html page editor to change these pages to your personal needs, I have included instructions with both templates.
The final part I want you to take notice of is your actual ebay auction or item title, get this wrong and you will almost certainly never achieve good sales.
That’s why I have listed below an ebook I recently wrote with free master resell rights.
This ebook guide will teach you some very simple steps to ensure that you get maxiumum exposure from ALL of your ebay item titles.
Choosing A Hot Selling Ebay Title
Before I finish this post I would also mention this point…
On average you have between 3 to 6 seconds to grab a potential buyer’s attention when they view your auction!
Doesn’t give you a lot of time to does it?
That’s why you should ALWAYS INCLUDE A HEADLINE in all of your auctions!
If you can grab their attention with a snappy headline, then you can ensure that they read the rest of your description.
You have done the hard part in getting traffic to your auctions, so now you have to work a little harder to keep them on the page and close that sale!
Take the time to implement the above and soon enough you will see an increase in your ebay ebook sales!
I hope you enjoyed this post, if you did…

Hi Sally,
Thanks for the advice and e-book though I am one of those people that do not sell e-books on Ebay. I did try twice but didn’t get one sale . Probably the wrong book. Is it worth selling e-books on Ebay as there are a lot of books @ 99p 0r even 1p. Do you make any money after taking out your fees? I know Ebay are cutting their fees soon but it can still be exspensive to sell there.
Hey Sally just a “Thank You ” for all the info you provide. I have learn’t a lot from you and I am not afraid of using my website’s cp panel now.I did do a course a few years ago with the famouse “Internet Marketing Center ” just before Corey died. To cut a long story short had loads of problems that were unexpected, tutor was usless and just didn’t want to know and ended up spending a great deal of money to learn nothing at all.
Again Thanks for all the help.

Hi Des
Yes totally but as long as you set it up correctly and follow through on ebay sales with back end sales or gather sign ups.
Ebay is a massive source of traffic and you can literally drive thousands of people to any site of your choice.
Why not mount a 3rd attack on ebay, but this time set it up for profit not failure!

I have a mental block at the moment and cant work out how to list on ebay. I’m having plenty of blonde days at the moment!
Thanks Sally, I’m still ploughing through it all.

Use the contact button at the top of blog and tell me exactly what your struggling with, so I can get you on the right path.

Sally,
I enjoy reading the blog and any information that you put forth. I will be taking the California bar Exam Feb. 26-28 and afterwords will be setting up my ebay site.
I have 3 domains, let me know what you think:
ebayandbeyond.com
jimsauctionsonline.com
jimsbookbiz.biz
I’m torn between the 3. I will be doing ebooks, software and some collectibles (cards) so I was thinking ebayand beyond.
Again thank you for the knowledge you impart.

Hi Jim
I would avoid using ebay in a domain name, for
legal reasons.
Actually none of your suggested domains contain the main keywords of what you site will contain, ie. ebooks or software so maybe give that a thought too.

Hi Sally,
I truly enjoy reading your ebooks! They are very informative & inspiring. I am looking into starting to write and sell ebooks of my own as well now……..thanks to you & your “If I can do it so can you!” enthusiasm that you add to your ebooks as well as your newsletters.
I wanted to let you know that the link to obtain the Auction Easy Words Software for that particular ebook isn’t working. When you click on it, you get another window that opens with error 404 on it. I just thought that you may want to know so that you can correct it if possible. That software would certainly come in handy for me, so please let me know if you are able to fix the glitch in the link the ebook provides to obtain it.
Thanks again,
Tammie

Sally,
Great information. I just have a question. You were saying your ebay id must be related to what you are selling. I’m getting ready to open an ebay ebook store in the very near future. Are you saying I should get rid of the user id I am using now and come up with a new one related to ebook selling? My concern is opening a store and having a feedback of O.
Thanks.

Hi Sally,
I really love this blog, because it offers solid, sensible information that I can use. That said, I still don’t have an ebay store — or for that matter half the VRE that I want — yet. It’s still under construction.
So here’s a question for you: What advice would you give to someone who is in a niche market and wants to use ebay as one part of an overall marketing plan? What’s the best way to integrate it, and what aspects of ebay are likely to bring me the best ROI (time and resources)?
Thanks for being such a wonderful resource yourself!

Hi Nancy,
I commend you for taking on VRE!
Using eBay I would recommend you write some short quality reports on your “niche” and sell them for a low price.
The reason for the low price is these reports are the appetizers that will lead the buyer to the main course!
Almost all of your eBay sales can be automated, including relisting, delivery etc, so once set up you wont have to spend much more time on the ebay business side.
To keep your ebay listing fees to a minimum, dont go for featured listings, or the bold upgrades etc.
Set up your about me page, with a sign up form too, offering a free gift related to your niche.
I am writing a report titled “The Ebay Appetizer” and as soon as it is finished subscribers will receive a free copy.
Hope this helps, Sally

Hello Reda,
There are currently two ways to sell ebooks on ebay:
1. Through an ebay classified ad
OR
2. Selling physical cds containing your ebooks.
Both options have their advantages.
For further help on Option 1 see:

And for further help on Option 2 see:

For an automated ebook download website try this one:

This is the same type of website I use for my own site sallys-ebooks.co.uk.

Hi Sally,
Thanks for the information. I’m wondering if you have any suggestions on pricing an E-book. I’ve been experimenting, but I’m finding it very hard to determine what the “golden” number is. Any advice in that direction is appreciated as I’m getting to ready to market my 2nd E-Book.

Hi Jay
I have written a new post here:

This should give you some ideas for pricing your new ebook.
